He is of Hispanic origin, which explains why his skin is still tan even after becoming a vampire and paling; his skin used to be a few shades darker. Being a businessman, he usually prefers to look professional. He likes to dress in business suits, and when he isn’t wearing a business coat he still wears dress shirts and pants. Sometimes he’ll wear jeans and a t-shirt for fun, or if he’s on the hunt. Regardless of his usual attire, he always wears his favorite leather coat when he rides his motorcycle. Personality: Usually Lucas is cool, calm, and level-headed, unless he’s in the throes of bloodlust. He does have a temper on him, and usually he keeps it in check; however, when he lets loose, it’s not pretty. Every once in a while he indulges in being a complete ass, toying with his prey or with fellow businessmen. He can be playful and mischievous; he can also occasionally be merciful or compassionate. When he’s happy, he’s incredibly handsome. He’s also egotistical: he knows how good-looking and skilled he is. Lucas is a shameless flirt and prefers both the company and the blood of women. History: Lucas was born in England a few years before the American Revolutionary War. His father built homes for a living and raised his son to do the same. Lucas showed a natural talent for it, and by the time he was sixteen he was designing many of the buildings he and his father worked on. By the time he was twenty he was working with some of the top architects of London. He attracted the attention of many people, both professionally and personally. He was approached by several fathers who wished for him to marry their daughters. If he took any interest in their girls, it was only to dally with them. He remained one of the most eligible bachelors of his time and place for years. However, there was one woman Lucas could not get rid of so easily. She watched him for years, always at night. She would occasionally approach him, and then she would watch him through his window while he slept. He only ever saw her at night, but realized too late that it was because she was a vampire. On his thirty-fifth birthday, she turned him as her present to him. In return he attacked her and ran off. Almost immediately he was recruited by a local coven led by a man from France named Andre Lechat. This group of vampires helped him to stage his death, create a new life, and learn the ways of the vampire. The coven took him all across Europe. Along the way he learned several other languages and established several connections. The crazed stalker who had turned him managed to find him while he and the coven were staying in the English countryside. She, along with several other vampires she recruited, attacked the coven just after sunset. The fight raged all night, with neither side gaining any ground. It ended close to dawn, with the attackers retreating temporarily. It didn’t matter; the next night, Lucas left the coven for their own safety. He went so far as to move to America. He opened up shop in New York City as an architect and introduced himself to Wall Street. He immediately invested in several companies that have since boomed. After a sufficient amount of time he left, moving to Mysteria. Knowing that the town is full of others like himself, he decided a life of honesty would be much more relaxing. He designed a house and hired contractors; now he waits in a local hotel until his new mansion is finished. Flaws: Because he has lived so long, and because he’s been so successful financially all of his life, Lucas has a bit of an ego. Okay, a lot of an ego. It tends to affect his behavior. He is repulsed by the taste of the blood of old people. He nearly vomits whenever he drinks it. Therefore, he only feeds from younger victims (usually under the age of 50). Lucas has been chased constantly and determinedly by a crazy female stalker. While she hasn’t managed to cause him any real physical harm (aside from biting his neck and draining his blood), he’s unsure of her intentions and is therefore wary of her. Merits: Along the way, Lucas has run into some shady characters and has developed several ties to different black markets. While he doesn’t always purchase from those markets, he does direct business to them and is rewarded with finder’s fees and the like. This includes occasionally selling his own blood. Due to his investments and long life and connections with other vampires, Lucas has a large amount of corporate ties. These are more numerous than his black market ties, though they don’t always give him as much money. Finally, Luke is filthy stinking rich. It helps to not only have a high-paying job at which he is very adept, but a hand in many different businesses. Being old and having saved up plenty of money doesn’t hurt, either. In short, if god had a bank account, Luke would have more money than him.
